Makila Modern

Having travelled the world for business, the clients had seen much and wanted a unique modernism style home. Using some creative engineering, the corners of two roofs were hung from hidden steel beams to allow corners to pocket open and turn three separate spaces into what can feel like one pavilion The five acre parcel sits 500′ above the Pacific with sweeping views up and down the coast of Molokai, Lanai and Kaaholawe as well as the West Maui Mountains behind the home. The owners extensive art collection was incorporated in the design phase of the project and inseted into the computer modeling for review and approval.
